Styles of wedding photography have probably
changed more in the last few years since the trend changed from
black and white photography to colour, all those years ago. Today's
couples often prefer a less formal approach to wedding photography,
perhaps having a mixture of sepia toned or monochrome photographs
along with colour and in a mixture of print sizes. Your pictures
should be a complete record of the day to create a storybook effect
instead of something that has been stage-managed. Couples now don't
just demand people photographs alone but also pictures of important
detail, perhaps the back of the wedding dress, bouquets, and the
shoes for example.
In my opinion the key to successful wedding
photography is to offer a balanced set of pictures covering a mixture
of contemporary styles and traditional images, which can successfully
work well together. The ratio of course is down to you, the client.
I am perfectly happy to adopt both styles but it is fair to say
that the modern reportage style of photography is great fun to do.
The "hit rate" isn't as great as the posed traditional
type pictures but the rewards can be so much greater. Take a look
at one of the black and white shots in my portfolio. The bride arriving
at the church being greeted by the vicar in the church doorway,
she just happened to look up and seeing one of her friends in the
congregation, her face lit up with a beautiful smile, a natural
smile like that would be difficult to achieve if the shot had been
posed.
From visiting you in your home to discuss to
your requirements prior to the wedding, the actual process of taking
the photographs of your special day, preparing your wedding album
and delivering the finished product to your door - all assignments
are carefully carried out by myself. I also guarantee that I only
attend one wedding in one day. With all these points taken into
consideration this lends itself to offering you a far more personal
and reliable service.
I very much look forward to hearing from you.
Best Wishes,
